Message From the President

Welcome to the website of the Battle Creek Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.!

It’s here – our new website!!!! We are so excited!!! We hope you find it to be a helpful resource as we serve the community together! Take a look around, review our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, register for an event, view past programming videos, links to our social media, Midwest Region and National websites or simply send us a message or question. We welcome your interaction with us on every level!

In addition to our new website, the Battle Creek Alumnae Chapter began its 2021-2023 biennium with more chapter members than ever before in our history since chartering in 1980. With more hands, comes increased capacity for more service. It is our desire to expand our reach to cover more of our service area in both Calhoun County and parts of Eaton County. If you would like to be a partner in our work, feel free to contact us!

I have the honor and distinction of having both the longest tenure as chapter president in our chapter’s history and the only one to serve in this role, just as my mother did. I hold this unique legacy and history in my heart and use it to fuel our work ahead under this year’s theme: Looking Up, Looking Out and Looking Forward

Looking Up – Aall of our help comes from the Lord, He gives our hands, hearts and minds the strength to serve, and for that, oh God, we thank you!

Looking Out – Outward towards those we serve to ensure we are doing our part to meet the needs and challenges unique to our community while Looking Out for each other, knowing we cannot do the work ahead without strengthening our mind, body and spirit.

Looking Forward  There’s no way to predict the future but we can plan for it based on what we know today. We look forward to the necessary partnerships and collaborations vital to address areas of focus, such as redistricting, board service, fighting for our democracy and right to vote, health education and so much more.

However you join us throughout the year, virtually or in person, we look forward to seeing you!

Be safe, be well,
